Pune is all set to get its third double-decker flyover under Metro Phase 2 (Vanaz to Chandni Chowk line). This new structure will be built near the Kothrud Depot, aiming to reduce traffic and improve city connectivity.
The double-decker design includes a road flyover on the lower deck and metro tracks on the upper deck. Similar structures at Nal Stop and Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk have already improved traffic flow and reduced congestion in those areas.

According to Maha-Metro officials, the Kothrud flyover will include two new metro stations — Kothrud Bus Depot and Chandni Chowk, along with a 580-metre-long foot overbridge connecting the metro corridor to the Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway.

Officials have confirmed that no land issues are expected in this area, and construction can be done smoothly without major traffic disruption. The project will be initially funded by Maha-Metro, with possible support from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Once completed, this project will further expand Pune Metro Line 2, improving urban mobility and enhancing property value in nearby areas like Kothrud and Chandni Chowk.
